Some consider the first day of fall to be September 1, which is known as meteorological fall. Others say fall doesn’t begin until the autumnal equinox, known as astronomical fall, which is September 22 this year.
But there’s another date some consider to usher in the fall season: when Starbucks releases its Pumpkin Spice Latte.
If you fall (no pun intended) into that third category, then we’ve got good news: Fall arrives now! That’s because Starbucks’s iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte goes on sale today. But Starbucks isn’t the only chain with PSL on the menu.
Here’s when the big-name chains are rolling out their PSL drinks this year.
Starbucks pumpkin spice latte
Starbucks introduced its Pumpkin Spice Latte back in 2003, and it’s without a doubt the chain’s most iconic beverage. Its existence has sparked an entire cottage industry of pumpkin spice products—and spurred its competitors to add their own PSLs onto the menu.
This year Starbucks’s PSL goes on sale today, August 22, 2024. It is just one of a number of fall menu drinks that the company is offering, including:
Krispy Kreme pumpkin spice latte
The company that loves giving away its donuts also has its own pumpkin spice drinks on offer (sadly, no freebies). Krispy Kreme’s PSL drinks on sale went on sale on August 12 and will remain so until November 28.
The donut chain offers the following PSL drinks:
In addition, the chain also offers Pumpkin Spice cake doughnuts.
McDonald’s pumpkin spice latte
Though best known as a burger chain, McDonald’s offers its own pumpkin spice latte every fall. This year, the chain will launch its seasonal drinks on August 30, according to food blogger Markie Devo.
McDonald’s PSL drinks include:
The company will also sell a Pumpkin & Creme Pie.
Dunkin’ Donuts pumpkin spice latte
On August 7 Dunkin’ announced its new Dunkin’ Spiked Pumpkin Spice Iced Latte alcoholic drink. However, that’s not the only version of the PSL Dunkin’ will offer this fall.
Its traditional non-alcoholic PSL drinks are still coming, but the company has so far not announced a release date. However, food blogger Markie Devo says fans of Dunkin’s offerings won’t have to wait long. The company’s PSL drinks will reportedly launch on August 28.
According to Devo, those drinks will be:
In addition, Dunkin’ will have plenty of fall treats on offer, including Pumpkin Donuts, Pumpkin Munchkins, and Pumpkin muffins.
