Here’s what you need to know about the Stanley mug recall and what to do if you have one of the affected products.
What’s happened?
Stanley is voluntarily recalling two of its popular products due to the possibility of a burn hazard. The two products are the Switchback and Trigger Action Travel Mugs in various sizes.
The mugs are being recalled because it was found that the threads on their lids could shrink when exposed to torque and heat. If the threads shrink, the lid could detach during use, causing burns if the mugs contain hot liquid at the time.
In total, about 2.6 million mugs are being recalled.

The Switchback and Trigger Action Travel Mugs in various sizes are included in the recall. According to a notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the mugs were available in several colors, including black, white, and green.

In total, Stanely has received reports of 38 burn injuries across the globe. Two of those injuries happened in the United States. In total, 11 people needed medical attention due to their injuries.
